Outstanding effort by young distance runner, Ian Hutchinson, who won the D2 Boys Varsity Race in 15:46 at the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational in Walnut (Los Angeles County), CA, this past weekend. Ian is a senior at Newark Memorial High School in Newark, CA. He’s got great grades and is an upstanding young man who takes the time to work hard, focus and strategize for his future in both academics and athletics. Ian is headed to his first Official Visit with a Dl college, George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He has additional Official Visits on the calendar as well. Per the NCAA a student-athlete is allowed up to 5 Official Visits with Dl colleges; unlimited Official Visits to D2 colleges; and unlimited Unofficial Visits to colleges in general. Note – there are rules regarding Unofficial Visits to colleges when they involve college coaches and that information is contained in the yearly NCAA Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete and the NCAA Transfer Guides. Great job, Ian, proud of you!
