This past week SportsHopes founder, Jennifer Oliver, had the honor of presenting a heartfelt message from post-collegiate student-athlete, Alitta Boyd, founder of a tiny new organization called, Post Collegiate Track & Field Network, at a Pacific Association-USA Track & Field meeting. Alitta’s brief message states: We Need Your Help, Our Sport is Dying. Alitta’s org offers free support and a network to fellow post-collegiate student-athletes who are trying hard to move up in their track and field aspirations. For Tier 3 & 4 athletes it is a huge challenge. Alitta, an accomplished horizontal jumps athlete, competed for Oakland PAL as a youth, is a graduate of Moreau Catholic High in Hayward, CA, and a graduate of USC. Her message can be viewed via the pdf. If you think about it, there are lots of post-collegiate distance running/walking clubs but what about track & field…?
