Upstanding young man, Donovan Kimball, shown here with his mom, Leah Kimball, is a new Student-Athlete Mentor for SportsHopes. Donovan is a 6’4″ 190 lbs. varsity football player (and basketball player) who has maintained good grades while at James Logan High School in Union City, CA. He’ll graduate in June 2016 and will be attending University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with an opportunity to play football there. While in high school Donovan met with his high school counselor each semester to make sure he was on track with college prep transferable core courses; he took the SAT test three times to insure best scores for college admissions to review; he registered with the NCAA; he applied to 13 colleges to insure he moved forward on the higher education pathway; he reached out to college coaches as he wants to continue to compete as a student and athlete; and he has volunteered within his community, including helping at SportsHopes events. Great job, Donovan, it takes a lot of focus, determination, hard work, smart choices and positive attitude to have everything in order for the next level and you have taken care of business. We look forward to having you as part of our SportsHopes team. Donovan’s football highlights can be viewed on HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2577531/highlights/314721384/v2
