Smart, kind and hard-working, Monique White, is a senior at Pinole Valley High School in Pinole, CA. She is a Thrower (Shot Put and Discus) and very much wants to continue competing at the college level. She will attend Alabama A&M University in Normal, Alabama, in the fall of 2016. AAMU is a public, HBCU land grant university. During Monique’s high school years she has largely trained on her own as her high school does not have a full-time Throws coach. She also has been able to train with local community youth advocate and SportsHopes board member, Daniel Wright, who coaches Track & Field in a neighboring city. In her spare time Monique helps coach younger student-athletes and serves as a role model. She had applied to and was accepted to numerous colleges which is no surprise due to her excellent academics. Monique hopes to major in either Communications or Criminal Justice.
