Great to see Anthony Martore (on left) for the first time in a while since his high school days at Castro Valley High. He and my youngest son, Dash, were working out at the Chabot Community College Track & Field All-Comers Meet this week. Anthony will be a 5th year at UCLA this coming school year. He will spend his 5th year studying abroad in China for one semester and in Italy for one semester. His major is Political Science and he has also studied Economics. My son is also …a CVHS grad and graduated from UC Berkeley in 2014 with a major in Legal Studies. Dash is the reason why I founded my nonprofit in the first place back in 2008 due to a high school football injury that forever took the sport away from him as far as competing in it. When the injury occurred college coaches turned and walked away as if he had no value. I decided then as a parent to work with kids for free and do whatever I could to help high school and community college student-athletes get to four-year colleges, earn educations and improve their chances of obtaining careers and self-sufficiency. Education is key! Both of these young men are role models, great human beings and track & field athletes. Onward they go working so very hard for bright futures! Very proud!
