Local volunteers worked at a concession stand at the 10-21-12 Oakland Raiders football game to raise funds for SportsHopes. SportsHopes is a 501c3 nonprofit public charitable organization that helps high school and community college student-athletes move forward to four-year colleges. Services provided to student-athletes are free of charge. The Raiders concessions company donates a percent of profits in return for staffing a stand. Additional fundraising at 2012 games is planned.
